When Kate Gordon receives news of her uncle’s death, and a request that she meets his lawyer at a place called Cragganmont, she is curious and reluctantly agrees to go for a few days.
Cragganmont is in the Scottish Highlands, in a country she has never visited, and her uncle a distant childhood memory. And Cragganmont has no intention of letting her go.
It is a place of family secrets, with deep-seated rivalry between two brothers – Rab & Calum – who have their own claims on the inheritance; and the unexplained circumstances of her uncle’s untimely death on the island in the middle of the loch. Calum is also the leader of a Druid ‘Grove’, which meets on the hillside behind Cragganmont, whose rituals call on the ancient Celtic deities and the dead to fulfill the destinies of the living.
Fiona Gillan Kerr is the published author of the novel The Bone on the Beach, released in September 2023. And has 3 other novels – The Other Solution, Neptune’s Steps & When the White Owl Flies – ‘in the pipeline’.
